Microsoft Windows 7 has attractive range of built-in mini desktop utilities called ‘Desktop Gadgets’, these can be used to show the required information on your desktop instantly, like you can add gadgets on your desktop to view latest news headlines or latest weather reports.

Windows Desktop Gadgets can be accessed by right-clicking the desktop and then clicking the Gadgets, here you will see the common gadgets available with Windows 7, now here you will right click the gadget you want to show on your desktop and click on ‘Add’.

You can get more gadgets by clicking on ‘Get more gadgets online’, this link will bring you to the Microsoft Windows Personalization Gallery, and here you can get different Windows Personalized Themes, Desktop Backgrounds, Desktop gadgets and Slideshow gadgets.

The added ‘Desktop Gadgets’ can be dragged to move them anywhere on the desktop, you can also remove the gadgets from the desktop by right-click on the gadget and clicking ‘Close Gadget’.
