We need to send weekly/monthly newsletters to approximate 1 million subscribers of our sites on regular basis. We were used to send bulk emails to them directly into their inboxes. After sometime, the subscribers of our newsletter reported us that they are not receiving their subscribed newsletter emails, in fact our mails were being blocked by Hotmail, Yahoo and GMail considering those mails were spam and our SMTP server was also listed on their black list.
We always need to send bulk emails to our subscribers who have subscribed to receive newsletters, products update and other information which was meant to promote our online business, though it was with their consent and we were not delivering spam to their email boxes, but our emails were considered as spammed by top web-mail service providers. Now it was a challenge for us that how can we deliver our legitimate email newsletters and updates to our subscribers directly into their mailboxes, we had to find a solution to this problem.
We did lot of research and came to know about TRUSTe, it is an internet privacy company which provides online, secure, trusted & privacy policies. Hi! I’m not sure how you relate the users viewing the “We Don’t Spam” seal with getting Hotmail, GMail, and Yahoo to allow the email through their spam filters. Does TRUSTe maintain a directory service that the spam filters of common email providers hook up to, and how long does it take before the email providers recognize that you aren’t spamming the users. I’d really appreciate it if you could perhaps post about how using TRUSTe helps your email newsletter service.

A nice post. But there are missing details. Is this a paid service ? Or do you get some sort of API key and use that in your emails ?
From the brief pdf that was displayed in the site, it does look like a paid service with a well defined process. However it did not mention affiliations with yahoo / gmail so one wonders how many email providers it covers and how effective this certified seal is.

It’s a paid server and no API is required, when an email is sent to Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail, these web mail services verify that the mail has been sent by a Truste certified sender or not.
