It’s a paid server and no API is required, when an email is sent to Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail, these web mail services verify that the mail has been sent by a Truste certified sender or not.

A nice post. But there are missing details. Is this a paid service ? Or do you get some sort of API key and use that in your emails ?

From the brief pdf that was displayed in the site, it does look like a paid service with a well defined process. However it did not mention affiliations with yahoo / gmail so one wonders how many email providers it covers and how effective this certified seal is.

Hi! I'm not sure how you relate the users viewing the "We Don't Spam" seal with getting Hotmail, GMail, and Yahoo to allow the email through their spam filters. Does TRUSTe maintain a directory service that the spam filters of common email providers hook up to, and how long does it take before the email providers recognize that you aren't spamming the users. I'd really appreciate it if you could perhaps post about how using TRUSTe helps your email newsletter service.
