Windows 7 and Snow Leopard, the both OSs have good collection of icons but there is a difference between styles which both use.

When we look at icons which are used for Trash bin then difference in both styles can be seen clearly. Windows use whole glass icon while Mac OS uses more natural attracting trash bin icon. If bin is full in Mac OS its icon bulges as shown in figure above.

If you look folder icons of both operating systems, the icon used by windows 7 is the traditional yellow colour. Thist folder icon for Windows 7 is taken from the folders used in Windows 95. The icon used by Mac OS X is a speckled blue, this change in Snow Leopard seems good.

Windows 7 and Snow Leopard use utilitarian approach to icons used in the C panel and System Preferences. The icons should convey their meaning clearly interpretation, as Apple uses its own hardware product portfolio for clear interpretation.
