Yahoo has recently announced the integration of Drop.io as an application with its mail service. Drop.io is a file hosting and sharing service on internet, and by using its application, Yahoo Mail has increased the maximum attachments size up to 100MB.

Google had recently increased the maximum size of its attachment to 20MB and not its Yahoo’s turn. Three internet giants, Microsoft, Yahoo and Google are not only competing fiercely in search business but they are also adding more features to their mail services to attract maximum possible users. Previously it has been a practice by Yahoo to develop all its applications in-house but this time Yahoo has now out-sourced an integral part of it mailing system. Yahoo has also added other applications like Pingg and Envite to its mail service.

User has to go to http://overview.mail.yahoo.com/applications to enable Drop.io file attachment service, after that it will be activated and will be displayed in the left bar under Applications (see image).
