Google has just announced that its service ‘Edition’ will be available in the first half of the next year, a service that will enable users to download electronic books on their mobile phones and readers.
Initially, around half of a million e-books will be available for download. Google Edition service will be available for many devices and it can be seen as a challenge for Amazon’s Kindle reader service.
Google will get 55 percent of the profit earned from this service and it will be sharing a major chunk of this profit with retailers, and the remaining 45 percent of the profit will be shared with the publishers.
Google Editions service will be available for wide range of devices that has a support for any web browser, including smart phones and number of e-book readers available for personal computers in the market.
