Microsoft is going to announce the availability of Windows Mobile 6.5 tomorrow, this will be the next OS version after the release of Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, and its successor will be the upcoming Windows Mobile 7.

As the smartphone market is very competitive, iPhone and Android are the major competitors of Windows Mobile OS, one could hope that this new release will enable Microsoft to compete fiercely to gain some ground in smartphone market. A major update of Windows Mobile 6.5 is also expected in near future before the major launch of Windows 7.

It has also been reported in press that Microsoft is also going to launch its own Mobile AppStore, which will serve as a marketplace for mobile phone users and from where users will be able to download mobile applications also. Many of the top Windows Mobile phone manufactures have also plans to announce their latest mobile devices based on Windows Mobile 6.5. Although any major change is not expected in this release of Windows Mobile OS, but as Microsoft claims, we can expect some improvements in its user interface and browser.
