
In a recent development, Hotmail has introduced some new dashing features that will help Hotmail to compete hard with its top rival Gmail. The new set of features will be added to Hotmail service in July this year.
According to Microsoft, Hotmail is the worlds largest email service with its user’s accounts numbers touching 360 million figures. Following are the highlights of new features that will be introduced in July this year:
Integration with Social Sites
Microsoft has upgraded its Hotmail service in a way that you will be able to see updates for popular social networks sites with in your Hotmail mailbox, Hotmail has also provided the feature to comment on those updates without leaving Hotmail. This integration is still not available with Gmail, thus Hotmail has now an extra edge over Gmail in social integration.
Web Apps
If someone sends you an attachment, you can store it on Microsoft’s free online service Skydrive. From there you will be able to edit the required document in WebApps by using just an internet browser, and then save the file on Skydrive again. The files can be shared with someone, and if any change is made by that user, an email will be sent to all the collaborators with detail of changes done.
Attachment and Mailbox Size
Microsoft has upgraded these features far better then Gmail, you will now be able to attach 10GB of multiple files with your single mail. Hotmail will also offering unlimited mailbox space for its users.
Other features that will be offered are optional support for showing your messages in threads, the ability to view media content right within your Hotmail, and better integration of Hotmail with Microsoft’s mail client Outlook.
This set of new features will really help Hotmail to gain an upper hand in its stiff competition with Gmail.
