Facebook has just announced the release of Facebook Messenger app. The app will allow users to chat and send messages to their friends whether they are using phones or Facebook website.
The new Facebook Messenger app is integrated with the Facebook’s chat and messaging service. The app has multiple features like:

• The conversations are archived as part of ongoing conversations on Facebook
• Facebook Messenger app allows users to share their location and users can also attach photos with their conversations
• Users can also create group conversations and are not restricted to chat with one friend only.
• Facebook Messenger is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
• Facebook Messenger is a free app that can be downloaded from the App Store.
• Facebook Messenger uses data to send messages not text messages that means that the service is not restricted to a single message charges or separate mobile phone service charges.

Now one can feel that Facebook Messenger could be a threat to other messaging services like BlackBerry Messenger.
